 That Time DDTTRH upset Kajagoogoo

As DDTTRH was garnering support from the likes of Nile Rogers, Owen Paul Mcgee (Simple Minds), Neil Carlill and Warren Cuccurrullo (who were playing together at the time) and Scissor Sisters...one name was mistakenly reported by us as being supportive of Duran Duran's bid for the Rock Hall....Kajagoogoo.  I believe it was printed by mistake in one of our press articles (based on my recollection).  Also...I am not sure if the source of the error was us or the paper printing the story.  I am pretty sure the paper was the Sun Press, my local paper in Cleveland.  

It wasn't long after the error was printed that I got a message from Kajagoogoo's management of the error.  It was something to the tune of 'we want nothing to do with Duran Duran and them being in the Rock Hall'.  I also remember the tone being bitter and mean.  I honestly was caught off guard because I couldn't think of a reason why they wouldn't be supportive...but I realized that maybe there was animosity between the two bands because of how well Duran Duran has done versus them.  Further...they were working the same scene 'in the day' as Duran Duran.  I was also imagining that maybe Kajagoogoo blames Duran Duran for stealing something from them, like their image or sound.  But then I thought better of myself because many other bands were doing similar to Duran at that time...they just didn't do it as well.  

Further, if you compare the two bands and how they've done on the charts, ie. officialcharts.com, you can see the difference clearly...

I mean...it's really no contest, right?  And in terms of the impression the two bands have made on pop culture, no one thinks of Kajagoogoo when one remembers the 80s...its Duran Duran.  Kajagoogoo is just 'too shy shy' to accept this and should just 'hush hush'.
